Google Authenticator: Securing Your KryptoCard with Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Updated over 3 months ago

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a critical security feature that adds an extra layer of protection to your KryptoCard account. This guide will help you set up 2FA using the Google Authenticator app and explain why keeping your 2FA backup code safe is essential.

How to Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

To enable 2FA on your KryptoCard account, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings
Log in to your KryptoCard account and navigate to the Settings section.

  2. Click “Enable 2FA”
Select the option to enable Two-Factor Authentication.

  1. Download Google Authenticator App

    • Download the Google Authenticator app from your device’s app store.

    • Click Next to proceed.

  1. Scan the QR Code

    • Open the Google Authenticator app.

    • Scan the Two-Factor Authentication QR Code displayed by KryptoCard.

    • After scanning, the app will generate a 6-digit verification code that refreshes every 30 seconds.

  1. Enter the Verification Code

    • Paste or enter the 6-digit code from the app into the KryptoCard verification field to complete the setup.

Why 2FA Matters

Your 6-digit verification code acts as an additional layer of security, especially when performing sensitive actions such as:

  • Viewing your card’s CVV

  • Changing your 2FA settings

Only authorized users with access to the Google Authenticator app can complete these actions, helping to keep your KryptoCard account secure.

The Importance of Your 2FA Backup Code

Always keep your 2FA backup code in a safe place.
This code is your recovery option if:

  • You lose access to your phone

  • You need to reinstall the Google Authenticator app

Without the backup code, regaining access to your KryptoCard account can be difficult and may require identity verification.

Stay Secure

Enabling 2FA is a proactive way to protect your financial transactions and personal information. By following these steps and safeguarding your backup code, you can have peace of mind knowing your KryptoCard account is well-protected.
